Privacy
The short version: PDF Coast runs entirely on your computer. It does not upload your files, require an account, or track you.
Last updated: 28 September 2026
Your documents stay on your device
PDF Coast opens, edits and saves your PDFs locally on your Windows PC. Your documents are never uploaded to us or to any third party, and we never see their contents.
No account, no sign-in
You don't create an account or sign in to use PDF Coast. We don't ask for your name, email or any personal details to run the app.
Scripts inside PDFs
PDF Coast never executes JavaScript embedded in an ordinary PDF. This protects you from a common way malicious documents attack a computer. Dynamic (XFA) forms run their form logic in a sealed sandbox: it can only fill in and show parts of the form itself, and it has no access to your files or the network. If a form tries to send itself, open a web address or run a menu command, PDF Coast refuses.
Data stored locally on your device
For convenience, PDF Coast keeps settings, saved visual signatures, snippets and crash-recovery state in your PC's AppData folder (recovery data may include an unsaved working snapshot of a document you were editing). None of it is uploaded, and you can clear it from inside the app without affecting your original PDF files.
Text recognition (OCR) runs on your PC
Text recognition for scanned documents runs entirely on your computer. Scans are never uploaded, and OCR works offline.
Features that go online only when you ask
"Web page to PDF" fetches the address you enter using Microsoft Edge on your computer; a link inside a PDF opens in your default browser only after you approve it. Nothing else in the editor needs an internet connection.
Updates
When you install PDF Coast from the Microsoft Store, updates are delivered by the Store. We receive only aggregate, non-identifying statistics from Microsoft (for example, install and crash counts). The app itself does not send your documents or personal information anywhere.
Diagnostics
PDF Coast does not collect analytics about how you use the app. If you ever choose to send us a diagnostic report to help fix a problem, that report contains no document content — and it is only ever sent when you explicitly choose to send it.

- Your name, address or payment details (any purchase is handled by the Microsoft Store under its own privacy policy)
- A profile of your activity across the web
Children
PDF Coast is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children.
