The short answer
PDF Coast fills in and signs PDFs on your own PC for free. Open the form, choose Sign, and click any field or blank area to type. Ticks, crosses and checkboxes take one click each, and you can add a drawn, typed or image signature, your initials and the date. It works on interactive forms and on flat forms that are only a scan.

How to do it
- Open the form and choose Sign at the top of the window.
- Click a field, or any blank area on a scanned form, and type.
- Use Tick, Cross, Dot or Checkbox for the boxes, and Date for today's date.
- Add your signature or initials and save. Choose Save Flattened Copy if the answers should not be changed later.
Fill and sign online, or on your PC?

Questions
Can I sign a form that is only a scan?
Yes. Click anywhere on the page to type or place a signature. The form does not need real fields.
Is this a legally binding digital signature?
A drawn or typed signature is a simple electronic signature, which is what most forms ask for. If you need a certificate-based digital signature that other PDF apps can verify, choose Sign with a certificate under Protect. That is free too.
Does filling in a form cost anything?
No. Fill & Sign is free, with no watermark and no account.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. PDF Coast opens and saves the file on your own computer, and works with the internet switched off. Nothing about the document is sent anywhere.
