The short answer
PDF Coast converts the tables in a PDF to Excel on your own PC. Open the PDF, choose Convert at the top of the window, then Excel. How to do it
- Open the PDF in PDF Coast.
- Choose Convert at the top of the window.
- Choose Excel and pick where to save the .xlsx.
- Open it in Excel. Totals and formulas work straight away.

Questions
Will the tables keep their rows and columns?
Yes, wherever the PDF has a table to read. Each table becomes a range of cells. Text that is not in a table comes across as text in a column.
Can it convert a scanned PDF to Excel?
Run Recognize text (OCR) on the scan first, then export. Without a text layer there is nothing to convert, and PDF Coast tells you so.
